At least 30 toll gates are located along the main Myanmar-China trade routes, which are negotiated, shared, and controlled by the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) and various Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs). Trading along the Muse-Mandalay route alone requires payment between 20 and 30 million Myanmar Kyats (200 to 300 Lakhs) in taxes.
