The United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA) launched its offensive in Rakhine State on November 13, 2023. It currently controls 92.6 percent of Rakhine State, along with the Paletwa township. To govern these territories, the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government (APRG) was established, and since May 2025, it has administered governance across eight districts, including Paletwa.
