On October 27, 2023, the three Brotherhood Alliance (3BHA) and its allied forces launched the ‘Operation 1027’, and successfully captured Hesni town, and four border towns including Chinshwehaw. In addition, they have taken control of four border gates at Chinshwehaw, Monekoe, Pangsang, and Kyinsankyawt.

Since the coup, no less than 221 townships (67 per cent of the total) have experienced at least 12,238 armed clashes. Delving into the regional dynamics, Karenni area, Chin State and Tanintharyi Region experienced armed conflicts in all of their townships while in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, conflicts erupted in 34 out of 37 and 25 out of 28 townships respectively.

Three Brotherhood Alliance (3BHA) forces launched the military ‘Operation 1027’ on October 27, 2023, and simultaneously attacked junta bases in northern Shan State. Within a few days, the Allied forces had seized four towns, including Chinshwehaw, on the China-Myanmar border, and claimed control of Hsenwi.

Since July 2023, intense fighting resumed between SAC forces and Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). This mapping shows townships and villages where these clashes broke out, the offensives of SAC forces, and the military posts of both sides in the past four months.

There were more than 22 incidents of massacres inflicted on civilians during post-coup armed conflicts in Myanmar. This mapping indicates the locations of massacre incidents which resulted in over 10 civilian casualties.
