Over 12 Towns Ceded by MAF in Myanmar-India Border Districts
(February 2021 – April 2024)

Following Operation 1027, Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) and resistance forces seized more than 53 towns throughout the nation. About 23 percent (12 towns) are situated in Myanmar-India Border Districts. In all districts bordering India (excluding Naga Self-Administered Districts), the Myanmar Armed Forces (MAF) lost control of towns. The MAF relinquished control of most towns in the Matupi District of Chin State, surrendering control of three towns.
