Movement of Kyar Phyant-Online Scam Operations
Over 17 townships in Myanmar, where Kyar Phyant-online scam operations previously took place, have undergone significant crackdowns, particularly in the Wa and Kokang Self-Administered Zones. Following these interventions, the operations have moved from Kokang and Wa territories along the Myanmar-China border to urban centers like Yangon and Mandalay, as well as central region of Shan State. Similarly, operations from Myawaddy on the Myanmar-Thailand border have moved to Hpayarthonesu and Yangon.
