1. The article “Additional People May be Included in US Sanctions,“ published on The Raw Facebook page on February 5, 2021, constitutes deliberate disinformation. This false news was disseminated on February 13 and again on February 18, 2021, and was widely shared.
2. The disinformation from The Raw targeted the senior management team members of ISP-Myanmar, specifically Min Zin and Aung Thu Nyein, making unsubstantiated and unethical accusations against ISP-Myanmar.
3. The Raw’s allegations against ISP-Myanmar are entirely fabricated and baseless. We firmly state that these claims are false. Furthermore, during this sensitive political period, The Raw’s dissemination of such disinformation undermines the information ecology and appears to be an intentional effort to sow discord among the various groups fighting for democracy in Myanmar.
4. ISP-Myanmar has explicitly condemned the February 1 coup. As an independent research organization, ISP-Myanmar collaborates with domestic forces striving for democracy, establishing a federal union, and strengthening civil society. We also maintain regular dialogue with international organizations, including the United States and foreign embassies based in Myanmar.
