Import value declined by over US$ 4 billion

Since the coup, both import and export value dropped to the lowest points in July 2021. Compared to FY 2019-20 (Oct 2019 to July 2020), FY 2020-21 (Oct 2020 to July 2021) saw a decline of US$ 4 billion in import value, while export value decreased by over US$ 2.7 billion.

Since the coup, both import and export value dropped to the lowest points in July 2021. Compared to FY 2019-20 (Oct 2019 to July 2020), FY 2020-21 (Oct 2020 to July 2021) saw a decline of US$ 4 billion in import value, while export value decreased by over US$ 2.7 billion. Myanmar is trading with over 236 countries and regions and China is the biggest trading partner. Trade with China, Japan, India, ASEAN countries made up about 75 percent of Myanmar’s total foreign trade value.
