A comparison of trade data between six months before and after the military coup revealed that 11 out of 14 border trade gates experienced a decline in trading value. The Muse border trade gate, one of the biggest border trade gates, experienced a drop of trade value at over US$ 1.3 billion. Similarly, at the Tachileik border trade gate, trade value dropped by over US$ 28 million. However, at the Myawaddy border trade gate, trade value increased by over US$ 640 million. This data is based on the statistics published by the Ministry of Commerce under the State Administration Council.
